About This Role

Galois is in search of a Chief People Officer to lead the Company’s people-agenda and culture priorities. Expertise in HR is not required. Your ability to help lead our community as we work more distributed than ever is key. If you are a business person who believes culture and community are the root cause of business success, we need your help. 

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief People Officer’s objective is to drive the innovation of our community to thrive in the future of hybrid work, creating systems and programs that can survive the test of time. This role will serve as a thought partner across the organization, providing expertise and guidance in all areas of People concerns and organizational strategy. We are excited to find someone who will be an advocate for people to work in the ways they need, support a culture of innovation and promote a transparent culture. We don’t just check boxes, we think from first principles about what will make the actual differences we value.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the leadership team to provide insightful thinking and problem solving on people, culture and talent topics.
  • Lead and develop a high performing team driving initiatives across talent and performance management, recruitment, learning & development, employment practices, and people operations. 
  • Strategize and execute on the creation of people programs including organizational design, career development, change management, leadership coaching, diversity, equity inclusion and culture initiatives.
  • Architect and oversee meaningful information frameworks that allow the organization to have access to the knowledge, tools and resources needed to succeed together.

Key qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology, Business Administration or related field required; Master’s Degree preferred
    • Experience working at a technology company is preferred. 
  • Experience leading teams, building connectedness among individuals, and driving business goals and objectives through people programs in a hybrid and/or remote work environment.
  • Strong conversational capacity and influence at the executive level
  • Experience creating and implementing organizational design, career development programs, employee experience, and DEI programs.
  • Extensive understanding in people analytics and program design.
  • Ability to maintain an effective level of business acumen and literacy including company goals, mission, financial position, technology, customer strategy, and competition

Location:

We enjoy a hybrid work environment, and being co-located with one of our offices is preferred – locations in Arlington, VA, Dayton, OH, and Portland, OR.
