Background
Marcella is a cryptography engineer with a primary interest in secure computation techniques that enable improved privacy for individuals, such as secure multi-party computation, zero-knowledge proofs, homomorphic encryption, and other related technologies. On the engineering side, she enjoys developing secure, misuse-resistant cryptography software, particularly open-source software in Rust. She joined Galois in 2023 as a research engineer. Previously, Marcella worked at Bolt Labs; she earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania in 2021, where she was advised by Nadia Heninger.
