Background
Katrina Schleisman is a cognitive neuroscientist working at the intersection of human cognition and technology. She completed a B.A. in philosophy and psychology, a PhD in cognitive neuroscience, and a postdoctoral fellowship in neuroscience, all at the University of Minnesota. Her graduate and postgraduate research focused on the neural basis of human learning and memory, EEG/ERP research methodology, and interdisciplinary applications of cognitive neuroscience to education.
Katrina currently applies her expertise to serve two main goals: 1. innovating new biologically-inspired approaches to artificial intelligence, and 2. applying human-centered design principles to technology design. This work is necessarily multidisciplinary and she enjoys collaborating with systems engineers, computer scientists, mathematicians, and many others to creatively approach technology research from multiple perspectives.
